Season planning
Build season plans, lock decisions, and connect plans to field work.
Season planning ties crops, acres, and timing to the parcels you operate. When a plan is ready, locking it signals that the farm intends to execute that season on those fields.
When to use Season planning
Use Planning when you need to decide what is happening on each field for the season and turn that plan into field work.
Before you start
Set up your parcels first. Planning works best when field names, acres, and crop decisions are clear enough for managers to review.
Planning basics
- Open Planning -> Season and select the crop year.
- Assign crops and targets to parcels or zones where your farm uses them.
- Review totals (acres, seed needs, and related summaries) before you commit.
- Lock the plan when leadership approves the season direction.
- Use generated or manual work items to execute planting, treatments, and harvest prep.
Locked plans are a source of truth for the season. Work items and logs should reference the parcels and crops they affect so you can reconcile at year-end.
Programs on the planning hub
After you lock a season plan, FarmFusion groups related field work under Programs such as Planting or Harvest for that crop year.
On Planning, Program cards show:
- progress toward acres or field jobs complete
- blockers that may hold up field work (maintenance, supplies, and similar)
- a link to open the Program and review linked work items
Programs are seasonal outcomes. Individual jobs still live on Work and Wallboard with their own assignees and due dates.
What good looks like
A good plan is clear enough for the team to know what is expected on each field, what supplies are needed, and which jobs should be created next.
Common issues
A field is missing from the plan. Check Land -> Parcels and confirm the field exists.
Totals do not look right. Review parcel acres and crop assignments before locking.
The plan changed after approval. Update the plan and make sure related work items reflect the new decision.
