Manuals and procedures
Keep equipment manuals and standard procedures close to the work.
The Library keeps farm knowledge where the team can find it. Use manuals for equipment reference and procedures for repeatable work.
When to use Library
Use Library when your team needs:
- equipment manuals
- service instructions
- safety steps
- repeatable checklists
- field or shop procedures
- documents linked to assets or work items
Manuals
Manuals are useful when someone needs a reference for an asset. Add manuals to the asset library so operators can find them without searching through shared drives, texts, or paper binders.
Procedures
Procedures help your farm repeat work the same way each time. Use them for jobs with safety steps, quality checks, or multiple handoffs.
Examples:
- pre-season planter inspection
- fuel tank inspection
- chemical storage cleanup
- grain cart end-of-day checklist
- irrigation startup
Daily flow
- Open Library and choose Procedures or Manuals.
- Add or open the document your team needs.
- Link useful manuals or procedures to assets and work items.
- Review procedures before assigning work that has safety or quality steps.
Common issues
People still ask where a manual is. Add it to the asset and use a clear file name.
A procedure is too long. Split it into simple steps a person can follow while doing the job.
A procedure changed. Update the published version before assigning it to new work.
