Scouting
Record field observations on the map and turn findings into follow-up work.
Scouting helps your team capture what you see in the field and decide what to do next. FarmFusion uses an Apple MapKit-powered, map-first layout: observations on the map, reports in a list below.
When to use Scouting
Use Scouting when someone observes field conditions that should be recorded, reviewed, or turned into follow-up work.
Examples include weeds, pests, disease, crop damage, water issues, access problems, and field readiness.
Before you start
Add the field or parcel first when possible. Scouting is easier to review later when observations are tied to the right land.
Record a scouting report
- Open Scouting from the main navigation.
- Create a report for the area you walked or drove.
- Drop observations on the map with notes, severity, and photos when useful.
- When action is needed, create a follow-up work item linked to the report or parcel.
What good looks like
A good scouting report records what was found, where it was found, how serious it looked, and what should happen next.
On mobile, use the card list and filters under the map to find recent reports quickly. See Mobile field workflow.
Common issues
An observation needs action. Create a linked work item so it appears in Work and WallBoard.
A report is hard to find. Use parcel links, clear notes, and photos when useful.
Multiple people scout the same field. Agree on naming and severity habits so reports are easy to compare.
